Monthly Advanced Lesson on Fiddle & Banjo
Through Patreon, each month I transcribe a fiddle tune and banjo tune from an oldtimer. The lessons includes high quality tablature, instructional videos, practice videos, backup videos and a link to the source recording along with a short bio of the oldtimer. Oldtime Rhythm Guitar
For the fiddle and banjo tunes covered in Lucas's monthly lessons, Kyle Dean Smith will offer tips and pointers for playing oldtime rhythm guitar. The membership includes a video each month with Lucas and Kyle playing the tune and Kyle breaking down his runs and rhythm.
Kyle Dean is from Grayson Country, VA and has lived a life deeply entrenched in oldtime and country music. His father, Kyle "Snake" Smith, was a well-known and respected guitarist and banjoist in the region and played with many notable musicians such as George Pegram, Kyle Creed, Fred Cockerham, and Tommy Jarrell; this was Kyle Dean's childhood. Kyle Dean is a multi-instrumentalist who was appeared on countless recordings with artists such as Martha Spencer and Kitty Amaral and performed with artists such as Kenny and Amanda Smith and John Hartford.
